Aprovechar el tiempo
A veces creo que estoy obsesionado con aprovechar el tiempo. Pasé muchos años de mi vida dedicada a trabajar para ganar dinero; muchos años de mi infancia dedicada a ver la televisión. Muchos años, meses, días, horas, minutos y segundos perdidos. Me perdí mucho. Mucho más de lo que os llegáis a imaginar.
Pero ya todo eso se acabó.
Ahora a cada minuto de mi vida me pregunto: ¿merece la pena dedicarle tiempo a ésto? ¿Para qué lo hago? Y en la medida de lo posible elijo la opción que considero más importante para mí. Me siento responsable de elegir:
¿Limpiar mi casa o tomar un té con un amigo?
¿Ver la televisión o hablar con mi familia en la comida?
¿Trabajar muchas horas para tener más dinero o tener menos y pasar tiempo con mis hijos?
¿Dejar pasar las horas o gestionar mi tiempo para que sea productivo?
¿Mirar el whatsap o escuchar lo que me dice una amiga?
¿Tirarme en el sofá o dar un paseo por la naturaleza?
¿Avanzar en mis proyectos o echar una tarde de rol con los amigos?
¿Ver las noticias o leer un libro que me guste?
¿Terminar el máximo de tareas o pararme a preguntar a una compañera cómo le va?
¿Comer sola o invitar a toda mi familia a comer?
¿Pasar una hora en facebook o ver un documental de mis temas favoritos?
¿Ver una película o jugar al Catán con mis hermanos?
¿Ahorrar dinero o hacer un viaje apasionante?
¿Vivir una vida estándar o vivir una gran vida?
Creo fervientemente que construimos la vida que queremos, elegimos cada momento qué vida queremos tener.
Es cierto que aún a veces hago cosas que no me hacen sentir plenamente. Por suerte soy consciente de ellas y estoy trabajando para cambiarlas.
Vivir así tiene unos costes a pagar. Vivir intensamente puede ser a veces muy estresante y caótico. Cada día es diferente y está lleno de miles de experiencias. Hay días que mi vida es una auténtica locura. Bendita locura.
Porque el tiempo se va como arena entre las manos.
Porque cada uno de esos minutos no va a volver.
Porque no sabemos el tiempo que nos queda.
Porque no hay una segunda oportunidad para vivir.
Ésta es mi vida y la quiero vivir ahora.
La vida se escapa sin realmente vivirla
Es como si todo lo que hago estuviera programado y no quedase espacio para la improvisación. Te despiertas con una alarma y necesariamente tienes que vestirte y salir de casa. Ir al trabajo o a clase, ver siempre a las mismas personas, hacer siempre las mismas cosas.
Te preparas durante un tercio de tu vida para trabajar y el resto te la pasas trabajando. Solo al final, cuando ya eres demasiado viejo para hacer todo lo que un día soñaste, tienes el tiempo necesario para poder hacerlo. Entonces, miras atrás y te das cuenta de que te perdiste la vida por hacer siempre aquello que se suponía tenías que hacer.
Se supone que somos libres para hacer lo que queramos, pero vivimos dependiendo del dinero que tengamos en el banco. Lo peor de todo es que lo tenemos tan asumido que ni siquiera nos paramos a pensarlo. Vivimos en rutina. Días iguales se suceden en el calendario y nunca llega el momento en que al fin podamos disfrutar de la vida.
Y pasa volando.
Es como el tren que no se detiene en la estación cuando lo estás esperando. La vida es solo una y no te enteras de que te la estás perdiendo. Si no coges el tren, constrúyelo. Crea una maldita estación y vive en ella si te da la gana.
No digo que no estudies o trabajes, sino que no pierdas las ganas de vivir. Hay vida más allá de las cuatro paredes que rodean tu rutina. Atrápala y déjate llevar ahora que estás a tiempo.
No esperes a hacerte viejo para empezar a vivir.
