Los pequeños detalles
El alumno, según él, había terminado el cuadro. Llamó a su maestro para que lo evaluara. Se acercó el maestro y observó la obra con detenimiento y concentración durante un rato. Entonces, le pidió al alumno la paleta y los pinceles. Con gran destreza dio unos cuantos trazos aquí y allá.
Cuando el maestro le regresó las pinturas al alumno el cuadro había cambiado notablemente. El alumno quedó asombrado; ante sus propios ojos la obra había pasado de mediocre a sublime.
Casi con reverencia le dijo al maestro:
¿Cómo es posible que con unos cuantos toques, simples detalles, haya cambiado tanto el cuadro?
Es que en esos pequeños detalles está el arte. Contestó el maestro.
Si lo vemos despacio, nos daremos cuenta que todo en la vida son detalles. Los grandes acontecimientos nos deslumbran tanto que a veces nos impiden ver esos pequeños milagros que nos rodean cada día. Un ave que canta, una flor que se abre, el beso de un hijo en nuestra mejilla, son ejemplos de pequeños detalles que al sumarse pueden hacer diferente nuestra existencia.
Todas las relaciones familia, matrimonio, noviazgo o amistad, se basan en detalles. Nadie espera que remontes el Océano Atlántico por él, aunque probablemente sí que le hables el día de su cumpleaños. Nadie te pedirá que escales el Monte Everest para probar tu amistad, pero sí que lo visites durante unos minutos cuando sabes que está enfermo.
Hay quienes se pasan el tiempo esperando una oportunidad para demostrar de forma heroica su amor por alguien. Lo triste es que mientras esperan esa gran ocasión dejan pasar muchas otras, modestas pero significativas. Se puede pasar la vida sin que la otra persona necesitara jamás que le donaras un riñón, aunque se quedó esperando que le devolvieras la llamada.
Se piensa a veces que la felicidad es como sacarse la lotería, un suceso majestuoso que de la noche a la mañana cambiará una vida miserable por una llena de dicha. Esto es falso, en verdad la felicidad se finca en pequeñeces, en detalles que sazonan día a día nuestra existencia.
Nos dejamos engañar con demasiada facilidad por la aparente simpleza. NO desestimes jamás el poder de las cosas pequeñas: una flor, una carta, una palmada en el hombro, una palabra de aliento o unas cuantas líneas en una tarjeta. Todas estas pueden parecer poca cosa, pero no pienses que son insignificantes.
En los momentos de mayor dicha o de mayor dolor se convierten en el cemento que une los ladrillos de esa construcción que llamamos relación. La flor se marchitará, las palabras quizá se las llevará el viento, pero el recuerdo de ambas permanecerá durante mucho tiempo en la mente y el corazón de quien las recibió.
¿Qué esperas entonces? Escribe esa carta, haz esa visita, levanta el teléfono. Hazlo ahora, mientras la oportunidad aún es tuya. NO lo dejes para después por parecerte poca cosa. En las relaciones no hay cosas pequeñas, únicamente existen las que se hicieron y las que se quedaron en buenas intenciones…

“Si una persona habla o actúa con el pensamiento puro, la felicidad le sigue como una sombra que nunca le deja”.
El valor de las pequeñas cosas
Aprende a escuchar el valor de las pequeñas cosas, de los acontecimientos. Verás que todo habla, todo se comunica contigo.
Con cada falta de delicadeza, hiero un poco a aquellos que me aman.
Con cada desatención, no soy ni educado ni cristiano.
Con cada mirada de desprecio, alguien resulta golpeado.
Con cada gesto de impaciencia, doy una bofetada invisible a los que viven a mi lado.
Con cada perdón que niego, va un pedazo de mi egoísmo.
Con cada resentimiento que esbozo, revelo algo de mi amor propio herido.
Con cada palabra áspera que digo, pierdo algunos puntos para el cielo.
