LA VIDA SE GASTA
Nos acostumbramos a vivir en departamentos y a no tener otra vista que no sea las ventanas de alrededor.
Y porque no tiene vista, luego nos acostumbramos a no mirar para afuera.
Y porque no miramos para afuera, luego nos acostumbramos a no abrir del todo las cortinas.
Y porque no abrimos del todo las cortinas luego nos acostumbramos a encender mas temprano la luz.
Y a medida que nos acostumbramos, olvidamos el sol, olvidamos el aire, olvidamos la amplitud.
Nos acostumbramos a despertar sobresaltados porque se nos hizo tarde.
A tomar café corriendo porque estamos atrasados.
A leer el diario en el ómnibus porque no podemos perder tiempo.
A comer un sándwich porque no da tiempo para almorzar.
A salir del trabajo porque ya es la noche.
A dormir en el ómnibus porque estamos cansados.
A cenar rápido y dormir pesados sin haber vivido el día.
Nos acostumbramos a esperar el día entero y oír en el teléfono: “hoy no puedo ir”. “A ver cuando nos vemos” “La semana que viene nos juntamos”.
A sonreír a las personas sin recibir una sonrisa de vuelta.
A ser ignorados cuando precisábamos tanto ser vistos.
Si el cine esta lleno nos sentamos en la primera fila y torcemos un poco el cuello.
Si el trabajo esta complicado, nos consolamos pensando en el fin de semana.
Y si el fin de semana no hay mucho que hacer, o andamos cortos de guita, nos vamos a dormir temprano y
listo, porque siempre tenemos sueño atrasado.
Nos acostumbramos a ahorrar vida.
Que, de a poco, igual se gasta y que una vez gastada, por estar acostumbrados, nos perdimos de vivir.

Un rico industrial del norte se molestó al encontrar a un pescador del sur tranquilamente recostado en su barca y fumando en pipa.
-¿Por qué no has salido a pescar? –preguntó el industrial.
-Porque ya he pescado bastante por hoy –respondió el pescador.
-¿Y por qué no pescas más? –insistió el industrial.
-¿Y qué iba a hacer con los peces? –preguntó a su vez el pescador.
-Ganarás más dinero –fue la respuesta-. De ese modo podrías poner un motor a tu barca. Entonces podrías ir a aguas más profundas y pescar más peces. Entonces ganarías lo suficiente para comprar unas redes de nailon. Pronto ganarías para tener dos barcas… Y hasta una verdadera flota. Entonces serías rico como yo.
-¿Y qué podría hacer entonces? –preguntó de nuevo el pescador.
-Podrías sentarte y disfrutar de la vida –respondió el industrial.
-¿Y qué estoy haciendo en este preciso momento? –respondió satisfecho el pescador.
