 LLORAR O REÍR ¿POR QUÉ PRIVARNOS DE ELLO?

“Una situación dolorosa y una emoción de tristeza son necesarias para mantener un equilibrio. Comprender que vamos a atravesar por ellas nos dará la fortaleza para superarlas, aprender de las mismas y saber que vendrán muchas más, lograr el equilibrio entre las emociones es la tarea que todos tenemos para vivir una vida plena emocionalmente”.

La tristeza también nos ayuda a reorientar nuestros objetivos, reflexionar sobre nosotros mismos, a tomar decisiones, así como buscar apoyo y pedir ayuda a nuestros seres queridos… Igualmente ocurre con las otras emociones: el miedo nos ayuda a huir del peligro, la ira nos incita a luchar y el asco o disgusto, nos hace rechazar cosas que nos pueden hacer daño.

En definitiva, todas las emociones tienen algo que enseñarnos acerca de nosotros mismos, y sin ellas jamás sabríamos lo que es la felicidad.

Es conveniente permitirnos los estados de tristeza, aunque hay que vigilar no quedarnos atrapados en ellos

Si desterramos la tristeza… ¿Cómo se curarán las heridas?

Derramar lágrimas no es perjudicial. Gracias a ellas, se liberan las hormonas del bienestar que ayudan a disminuir los niveles altos de angustia y que actúan como un calmante natural de las emociones intensas. Y, después del llanto, llega la calma y se entra en un estado de relajación.

Cuando lloramos, el cuerpo libera tensión, esa tensión que sentíamos como angustia. Por eso luego de llorar nos sentimos así de bien, así de relajados. Porque ya no cargamos con ese peso emocional. El llanto ayuda a superar los problemas y a veces llorar un solo día no es suficiente, quizás la tristeza de, por ejemplo, la pérdida de un ser amado se extienda por días y hasta semanas. Pero si lloramos cada vez que lo sentimos sin contenernos, probablemente superemos antes la pena.

El llanto es el primer paso para estar mejor. Reprimirlo es querer seguir mal, angustiado, afligido. El reprimir los sentimientos es sumamente nocivo para la salud mental y hasta física. Produce ansiedad y depresión. Nos hace aislar, alejar de amigos y familiares.

La tristeza te fuerza a mirar esas partes de ti misma que no están sanas todavía.

Si puedes mirar a la tristeza como una enseñanza, crecerás. El dolor de la tristeza no es el único maestro en esta vida, pero si es observado adecuadamente, con conciencia y el corazón abierto, es uno de los más grandes maestros de todos. Las semillas de la sabiduría y la iluminación están plantadas dentro de las heridas de la tristeza. Lo que se ha perdido solo puede regresar a nosotros nuevamente de un modo superior.

Aunque las cosas no cambien por una lágrima, siempre podemos y en eso estarán de acuerdo conmigo, retomar con más calma, el empeño de la vida…

Los remedios naturales para luchar contra ella muchas veces están dentro de nosotros mismos. El primero, por no decir el único, es no tomarse a uno mismo demasiado en serio. Tristeza en modo alguno es sinónimo de pesimismo, al contrario, soy de los que apuesta a que la tristeza sonriente le ganará la partida a la pena y a la amargura. Eso sí, es necesario evitar que la tristeza se convierta en una postura cómoda de desintegración paulatina soportable.

Recuerda que tanto la alegría como la tristeza son emociones básicas del ser humano y ambas deben sentirse y vivirse intensamente.

  10. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids.
    I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
    There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
